Abinger Tennis Club was formed after the two hard tennis courts were built in the 1970s. They are used on a regular basis for tennis at different levels, mainly by local residents and their families. Abinger Tennis club continues to flourish with over 90 members and children (under 18). The club is solvent and holds funds to improve the members enjoyment of the facilities.
The Club is situated in an idyllic rural location in the Surrey Hills, ideal for those keen on sport and social lifestyles.
Whether you are a novice or a club player, our club will allow you to play and flourish in a sport that will help with fitness, competition and social interaction. It is one of the few sports where men, women, boys and girls can compete on the same court throughout most of their lives.
Tennis rules make our players conform to civility and fair competition in a safe environment.
The Tennis Club is for members only. Members pay a one off annual fee (currently £80.00) and they may play as often as they want (subject to club rules). For families there is a special deal where children under 18 have free membership.
During the season between May and September free coaching is available on Thursday evenings. Otherwise our qualified coach, Linzee Proudfoot can take members from novice to club level with regular coaching (and hard work). At present the Club is not affiliated with the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) but we may re-join in due course.
Tennis at Abinger is friendly, active and open to all levels. Play social doubles, join coached sessions or book a court and hit with friends. Courts are bookable online.
New players are always welcome.
